Emergency Information

MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) is an academic enrichment program offered by Jackie Robinson Academy. MESA assists students so they excel in math and science and become competitively eligible for academically rigorous colleges and universities.  The MESA program at Robinson works closely with the Engineering Department at California State University, Long Beach.  Students with an interest in pursuing careers in Engineering, Mathematics and Science should apply for the MESA program.

The MESA classes at Robinson have always been project-based, encouraging the students to follow the scientific process of inquiry and discovery. Hands-on math and science competitions give students a chance to meet like-minded students and vie for awards. Students follow MESA-developed curriculum that reinforce California state math and science content standards.  Robinson has had a long tradition of sending winning teams to the MESA Day finals in the spring. The Robinson Algebra Math Quest teams qualify for the finals at MESA Day on a regular basis.  Parents interested in more information about MESA should contact Mr. Licano.
